The El Nino case study

HIV, TB, food insecurity and malnutrition are interrelated phenomena. In PLHIV, optimal nutrition is critical to effective care and treatment; when the body’s immune system is compromised due to HIV or AIDS, this can contribute to malnutrition and susceptibility to other infections.

This case study outlines lessons learnt from a PEPFAR-funded WFP response to drought in southern Africa in eSwatini, Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique and Zimbabwe.
